2. How much do tickets to live shows cost?

Prices for live shows are dependent on the type of show and the price the promoter / producer is charging. Session times for live shows can be found on our website; clicking on the session time will take you to our online booking system. Seating may be allocated, so we advise you to book early to secure your favourite seat.

3. Can I buy tickets online?

To book tickets online go to our Now Showing or Coming Soon page on our website, select a show and click on the session time next to the date of the screening or event. This will take you through to the ticket booking page. Online ticket sales attract a small surcharge to help pay for the cost of the service.

4. What is the Vic Movie Club and how can I join?

Join The Vic Membership and receive $14* Adult tickets (incl. donation) on Wednesdays. You also go on our mailing list to receive our weekly newsletter so you are the first to know what's new at The Vic! The best part? Just join up at the box office or online and tell us what you would like to see and we'll fix you up with a ticket of your choice!

5.  Can I take food and drinks into the cinema?

Only food or drinks purchased at the Vic Devonport are permitted to be taken into our cinemas. Our staff wages depend on concession sales.

6.  How can I hire the theatre, cinema or bar for my function or live show?

7. What group discounts are available?

Group prices only apply for regular full-priced tickets. For larger groups, please contact info@thevic.co.nz for a proposal to suit your needs.

8. What is the Fullers Ferry & Movie Deal and do I need to book?

Please note that the Fullers Ferry & Movie Deal is temporarily unavailable.

Ferry services from Auckland Downtown to Devonport are now operated by Auckland Transport.  We will let you know via our  newsletter and social media posts once a new ferry and movie deal package has been secured.

9. Where can I park my car?

There is limited 120min street parking outside the cinema.  Additional car parking is also available on side streets and some streets have car parking without limits, such as some parts of Calliope Rd, Kerr Street, Rattray St, Buchanan St, Edwards Pde, Queens Pde. Check out the Devonport map here.

10. What are your opening hours?

We are generally open 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm and closed on Christmas Day. Opening hours are flexible and generally from 9am or about 30 minutes before the first screening until the end of the last screening. Extended hours may apply to accommodate special events, during school holidays and long weekends.

11. What's the difference between ice cream and gelato?

Gelato is churned at a much slower rate, incorporating less air and leaving the frozen product denser than ice cream. Gelato is served at a slightly warmer temperature than ice cream, so its texture stays silkier and softer. Because it has a lower percentage of fat than ice cream, the main flavour ingredient really shines through. All our gelato are made from authentic ingredients and fresh fruit and most flavours are gluten free. We also have dairy-free options available – please ask our friendly staff.

12. How old is The Vic?

The Vic was opened on 26 October, 1912. Our Homepage page provides further history of The Victoria Theatre and The Victoria Theatre Trust.

13. Do you have wheelchair access?

The building and Cinema 1 is wheelchair accessible. Cinema 4 on the groud floor has one small step. Upstairs cinemas 2 and 3 are accessible by stairs. We are fundraising to implement an elevator in the future.  Donations can be made to the Victoria Theatre Trust
