Young Johannes, aka Jojo, is keen to be accepted by his peers and wants nothing more than to be friends with the Führer. On his quest to become the country’s fiercest Jew-killing patriot, he invents a fantasy version of Hitler as a form of guidance, played by Waititi himself. When he discovers his single mother is hiding a young girl in her attic, his world view is turned upside down and he must confront his blind nationalism.
