After a year in hibernation The Wonderfish Collective are back at Devonport’s Victoria Theatre this June for one night only.
If you like the idea of a 15 piece band including a four-piece horn section, 6 vocalists plus keys, guitars, percussion and drums - then this gig is for you.
This year’s show has a strong soul / funk vibe and will include tracks written especially for the show, the reinvention of songs by other artists, plus a few old soul/funk favourites.
The band line up is oozing with talent including Devonport’s own keyboard wizard Paddy Cornfield – fresh from his amazing performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto with the Devonport Chamber Orchestra in April.
Profits from the show will be donated to Crescendo, a charity focussed on empowering rangatahi to make positive changes in their lives through their successful music, film, radio and photography mentoring programmes.
Special guests HOOP will open the show with their eclectic blend of indie folk/pop.
The 'Collective' cast for this year .....
Robbie McKegg (vocals); Mary Cornish (vocals); Geoff Brogan (vocals); Alex McKegg (vocals, guitar); Al Baxter (vocals, guitar); Nick Edgar (band leader, vocals, rhythm guitar); Johnny Burdon (lead guitar); Glenn Coldham (bass); Paddy Cornfield (keyboards); Rusty Knox (drums); Gary Hunt (percussion); Leon Barge (saxophone); Owen Johnstone (saxophone) Gary Neill (trumpet); Cam Mclean (trumpet, trombone)
